The NYW Coaching Development Initiative is a groundbreaking program designed by our state association.  There is no other program like it in the country and SCSC has sponsored five of our own (and the most of any one club from NYW) to begin their coaching education journey.  The five candidates are Morgan Hill, Mike Collins, Jon Deprimo, Ross Holden, and Kyle Smetanka. 

The course began this past weekend at the Finger Lakes Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, NY where each candidate earned their USSF ’E’ Certification along with the additional material associated with the four theory areas (Nutrition, Fitness, Psychology, and Match Analysis).  Unfortunately, one of the tasks for the Match Analysis was to suffer through the 3-2 USA loss to Brazil in the Confederations Cup Final, but the analysis went very well.

The candidates will also be entering into the distance learning portion of the program and each of them have been assigned a tutor/mentor.  They will be assigned different tasks for each of the four areas and run sessions for their prospective players.  When the program is complete a year from now each candidate will have also earned a USSF Youth Module certificate, a NYSWYSA Goalkeeping Certificate, and their CDI diploma at the 2010 AGM. 

We are proud of to have sponsored these young coaches and wish them the best with this program.

SCSC has reached a new milestone in our club with having a record number players from both the boy’s and girl’s selected for our state ODP pools.  This is significant because it shows the level of commitment and development of our players is being recognized across the state.  Participation and selection of our players into the NYW ODP program over the years has consistently increased.  Thanks to all the players, parents, and coaches who have helped represent SCSC at the next level.

Another successful year from our Street Soccer program, this year we had max numbers around 165 participants. This year this program has brought our club great additions for the tryouts this fall.

The club would like to certainly ensure that we recognize our local community members for there contributions to our Jamboree, the grill and workers that they provided added to the successful Jamboree. The coaching staff we had this year was excellent in there dedication and commitment to providing a great enviroment for the players to continue to develope all season.
